the big idea
mu.edu was found on the idea that museum education is more necessary than ever to help sustain the cultural integrity and diversity of a community. Unfortunately access to and engagement in these spaces is severely lacking to certain audiences. Based on a survey we found the main issues people have with museums.

Harnessing those responses we developed a strategy to peak interest, create engagement, and educate audiences on how important and fun museums are. mu.edu is dedicated to finding, and bridging, those gaps that keep audiences from getting most out of their museums.

navigation made easy
Has your museum experience ever felt overwhelming or irrelevant? Maybe you're not sure where to invest you time or what might be most interesting?
Based on your selected museum and a series of personalized questions geared towards individualizing your experience, mu.edu has developed a feature where you can customize a personal itinerary for your museum visit. Learn more on each stop or edit, all made easy through a filtering system. Need to pause and pick up later, thats not a problem either. Mu.edu saves your stops and favorites for anytime access.
Getting lost in the museum is sometimes more frustrating than fun (especially with large crowds or when time in not on your side). Trying to get through a maze of museum wings can make someone dizzy.
mu.edu has figured out a way to make navigation easy and engaging. You can quickly toggle from visual to written directions with realtime location services. Looking for something more exciting? Try out the AR feature where you can engage interactive way finders that guide you to the destination. Leave off and pick up your tour at any time, you can set a route to your next stop from anywhere in the museum.
Consider how often you go to a museum: maybe for a new exhibit or special occasion? How often do you hear about these events, let alone seek them out? Sometimes opportunities come and go before you even knew you had the chance.
mu.edu has dedicated a whole feature to sharing information on museum perks. From participating in programs to parties, online registration and adding events to your calendar is made quick and easy. This keeps museums alive and people excited for more.
